Meaningful Mexico Travel For Mothers & Daughters

Your Inspiration Connection is connecting lives across cultures, we have the scope and experience to offer authentic, immersive ways for young travelers to travel abroad and experience our world. Our junior high and high school serve abroad programs are led by locals in the communities you’ll join. Our staff, volunteers and hotel staff will welcome you to a safe and enjoyable home away from home in Puerto Vallarta Mexico!

To us, serving and learning about other cultures is about becoming a global citizen. Your Inspiration Connection has discovered the importance of intercultural exchange. Today, you can be part of our legacy to connect, inspire and ignite passion in your daughter!

By going abroad in junior high and high school, you can change your world in ways that are both visible to you personally, and visible to your friends, family, teachers, and future peers and colleagues. I am confident that your daughter will say that their experience was “transformational.” She will gain new maturity and independence, and develop a better understanding of what their passions and long-term goals are. She will also share that they’re better prepared than many of their peers for the college application and interview process.

There are practical benefits to going abroad in high school too, like gaining language fluency, developing critical intercultural communication skills, and forming lifelong connections that span the globe and often last a lifetime. The impact of going abroad is different for everyone.

Eligibility requirements will be provided. Across the board, our program experiences are designed for young ladies that are physically, mentally and emotionally healthy, open-minded and flexible, and willing and able to try new things.

The application is our way of learning about you. There are two main parts: one is personal information that you can fill out on your own or with the help of your parents; the other involves information that you’ll need to gather from people who know you, like your doctor and teachers. The application questions will be provide to you after your initial call to our Program Coordinators. We recommend giving yourself about 2-3 weeks to complete the application.

To travel to Mexico you will definitely need a passport. In fact, you’ll need to have one in order to secure your spot on most programs, so we recommend taking care of it sooner than later since it can take 6-8 weeks to arrive.

The program fee includes: Accommodations at the hotel or host residence, coaching fees with our Affiliate Partners, orientations before and during your program, secondary medical insurance, passport support and assistance, program Leadership Coaching fees, and 24 hour emergency assistance should anything come up while you’re on program. In addition, fun activities will be planned like snorkeling, shopping, zip lining, fishing and more! There will be additional fees per person for extracurricular activities. Everything will be paid for before you travel so that you can have a stress-free experience.

You’ll need to take care of your domestic travel to your international departure city, International airplane tickets, visa and passport fees (which range from zero to $1,000), and spending money while you’re abroad. Mexico uses pesos and we will advise you on how much money you should exchange for pesos at your bank prior to traveling. US dollars may be exchanged in Mexico and our Mexico Program Director can help with that.

Upon arrival in the USA or Mexico, one of our Directors or volunteers will be waiting to greet you at the airport. In some cases, you’ll be brought directly to a welcome orientation. In other cases, you’ll go straight to the hotel or host residence upon arrival and attend a welcome orientation at a later date. The trip to your host community could be by car, bus or van.

Day trips to other safe areas in the region may be allowed with permission from your parents. Too much travel can keep you from really immersing yourself in the local culture, but short trips can be a great way to learn more about the area. Travel back to the U.S., however, is only allowed under very rare circumstances.

Scholarships are made possible by the generosity of numerous donors who all have a deep connection with Your Inspiration Connection and value intercultural exchanges as necessary for the promotion of peace in the world. Upon submission, applications will be reviewed and matched with the most applicable scholarship, if available. All scholarships are partial, and scholarship award amounts will be determined based on application, interview, references, and prayerful consideration.

If you have friends or family who want to visit Mexico, the visit must be approved by our Program Director and we strongly recommend arranging it for the end of your program so that it’s not disruptive to your experience. We can assist for family with booking hotel accommodations, fun day trips and creating wonderful family memories.
